ESTELLE CZERNICHOWSKIartiste plasticienne, danseuse et chorégraphe 

(Orléans, 1992) vit et travaille à Bruxelles.&#38;nbsp;


Son travail se déploie dans une attention à la lenteur, à l’espace comme possibilité d’accéder à l’imperceptible, à ce qui nous meut de l’intérieur.


Elle monte ses projets en tant que chorégraphe (sa première pièce Louve vous pouvez tout casser et repartir à zéro a été présentée aux Brigitinnes en juin 2019) ou participe à divers projets en tant qu’interprète (Maite Alvarez, Fabian Barba, Ingri Fiksdal ).


Aussi, elle développe une recherche sur l’exploration sensible, entre la relaxation, le massage, et la danse. Donne des ateliers et décloisonne l’idée de ce qu’est un corps dansé. Son travail plastique comprenant du dessin, de la vidéo,&#38;nbsp; de la photographie, et de la sculpture est constamment en dialogue avec son univers chorégraphique et l’amène à participer à des expositions collectives.


Elle aime collaborer avec d’autres personnes et créer à partir de lieux existants. 
C’est là qu’elle y puise sa matière. Au fil des rencontres et dérives, autant avec des personnes, que des paysages, des situations, des livres…


En février 2022 elle expose au BPS22 à Charleroi dans le cadre de l’exposition TEEN SPIRIT. Elle y a été aussi invitée à présenter une performance TRAVERSES, nouvelle pièce chorégraphique pour 5 danseuses.


Depuis 2021 elle est soutenue par la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles et travaille sur deux projets de recherche :


Danse Aveugle , installation immersion en binôme avec le plasticien Arthur Jules (Les Ateliers Panthères asbl) et en invités Saïd Garbi, Anastasia Guevel, Laurent Isnard. Cette recherche est soutenue par le Brass, L’Espace Catastrophe, La Tour à Plomb, la Ligue Braille, Eqla, Le Delta.

La Place/Het Plein,&#38;nbsp; avec l’artiste sonore Elvira Nataloni , la vidéaste Déborah Ephrem et la metteuse en scène Swan Gautier (Archipel de la Sauvage)/


C’est une recherche de danse en milieu urbain, grand laboratoire en non mixité choisie mêlant des matières liées à l’art plastique, aux récits et à la danse.

From The Structure of Scientific Revolutions
&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Yet one standard product of the scientific enterprise is missing. Normal science does not aim at novelties of fact or theory and, when successful, finds none. New and unsuspected phenomena are, however, repeatedly uncovered by scientific research, and radical new theories have again and again been invented by scientists. 

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; The practice of normal science depends on the ability, acquired from exemplars, to group objects and situations into similarity sets which are primitive in the sense that the grouping is done without an answer to the question, “Similar with respect to what?” One central aspect of any revolution is, then, that some of the similarity relations change. Objects that were grouped in the same set before are grouped in different ones afterward and vice versa. Think of the sun, moon, Mars, and earth before and after Copernicus; of free fall, pendular, and planetary motion before and after Galileo; or of salts, alloys, and a sulpuhur-iron filing mix before and after Dalton.

Yet whenever I see a frog’s eye low in the water warily ogling the shoreward landscape, I always think inconsequentially of those twiddling mechanical eyes that mankind manipulates nightly from a thousand observatories. Someday, with a telescopic lens an acre in extent, we are going to see something not to out liking, some looming shape outside there across the great pond of space.

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Whenever I catch a frog’s eye I am aware of this, but I do not find it depressing. I stand quite still and try hard not to move or lift a hand since it would only frighten him. And standing thus it finally comes to me that this is the most enormous extension of vision of which life is capable: the projection of itself into other lives. This is the lonely magnificent power of humanity. It is, far more than any spatial adventure, the supreme epitome of the reaching out.

 &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;T R O U B L E (S)


T r o u b l e (s) c’est un ensemble de photographies inédites, une installation qui habite et correspond avec l’espace et les corps de ceux qui la regardent.
Il sera ici lieu d’invoquer le trouble - mais aussi de tendresse, de signes, de mutations, de liberté et de lutte dans nos temps incertains.


Les corps se répondent, l’invisible et le visible cohabitent. Et entre : l’espace vide pour projeter ses propres images mentales, sentir.
Il sera question de tout ce qui est “au bord”, ce qui se fait et se défait. Les marges, la liberté, l’invisible, la fracture, l’habitat.


C’est une série en cours autour d'une recherche sur le female et le queer gaze.


Les photos sont principalement prises au moyen format, en couleur et en noir et blanc.


Chorégraphe et artiste visuelle je produis des photos au fur et à mesure des années. Sous d'apparentes “belles images” j’ai l’urgence de capter ce qui n’est pas donné à voir normalement. Une fragilité, une vulnérabilité, un trouble.Pour “Trouble(s)” j'ai le désir d'explorer des moments d'épiphanies, mais aussi ses contrepoints; montrer tant les états de liberté que la lutte, l'énergie, le mouvement pour atteindre et entrevoir ces états.


Dans la tête les écrits de Donna Haraway :"vivre avec le trouble c'est d'abord apprendre à vivre dans les temps incertains des catastrophes environnementales"et plus récemment le livre de Lucie Azema qui m'accompagne :Les femmes sont aussi du voyage : l'émancipation par le départ"Le voyage n'est pas une vie parallèle, une vie où l'on partirait et d'où l'on reviendrait. Pour celles qui voyagent, elle est la vue brutalement réelle, non rêvée ; la vie affranchie et solitaire ; la vie absolue, entière, irréfutable."


Les photos sont prises avec différents outils et techniques : un moyen format argentique, un téléphone, un compact argentique et un compact numérique, en couleur et en noir et blanc.

 &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;Danse Aveugle est une recherche transdiciplinaire inititée en 2019 par Arthur Jules et Estelle Czernichowski.Danse Aveugle existe sous forme d’installation mais aussi d’expérience immersive (live).
Danse Aveugle est un espace à parcourir les yeux fermés, en ayant recours au toucher et en étant à l’écoute de paysages en mutations. C’est une grande cartographie tactile, déployée au sol et conçue en dialogue avec des personnes mal ou non voyantes. L’installation réalisée puise son imaginaire dans des récits de territoires parcourus, de ruisseaux longés, de plages arpentés, de canaux approchés et de ruines traversées. Elle invite le corps à se mouvoir, se rapprocher, chercher et écouter. C’est notre manière de transcrire des paysages habités, voués à disparaître et à renaître dans et de l’obscurité.---Danse Aveugle is an installation to be walked through with eyes closed, using touch and listening to changing landscapes. It is a large tactile cartography, deployed on the ground and conceived in dialogue with visually impaired or blind people.The installation draws its imagination from the stories of territories travelled, streams skirted, beaches surveyed, canals approached and ruins crossed. It invites the body to move, to get closer, to search and to listen. It is our way of transcribing inhabited landscapes, destined to disappear and be reborn in and from the darkness.
